CALL FOR PROPOSALS
OF SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS FOR THE PROGRAM OF PANLAR 2022

After the scientific success of the PANLAR 2021 Congress, we open the calls for proposals for scientific sessions for the PANLAR 2022 Congress.

GUIDE FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS

Categories: Proposals will be received from any of the following:

  1. Individuals or independent groups: They are members of PANLAR member societies, who submit their proposals individually or jointly.
  2. Sociedades miembros: Una o varias de las sociedades miembros de PANLAR, a través de su Comisión Directiva.
  3. PANLAR study groups: Any of the active study groups recognized by PANLAR.

All proposals must be submitted electronically (through the system that will be enabled for this purpose) before January 17, 2022. Proposals will not be received by fax, hard copy or email.

WE LOOK FOR PROPOSALS THAT:

  • Be innovative in your educational format
  • Encourage participation, discussion, and scientific thinking
  • Represent areas of clinical practice or research usually not included in rheumatology medical congresses
  • Include participants from at least two (2) member countries.

1. PRESENTATION OF THE PROPOSAL

The proposal must include information related to other areas of knowledge or experience of each of the speakers, so that they can be included by the Scientific Committee of the congress to participate in other educational sessions (see numeral 4 – Responsibilities of applicants).

The proposal must include:

1.1- Type of session / Educational modality:

1.2 Session title: Usually an attractive title that reflects the content of the session and contains words that make it easier to search in the program.

1.3 Responsible for the proposal: Those responsible for the proposal will be consigned with an email address and telephone numbers for their location.

1.4 Educational objectives: What will be the content that the attendees will have learned at the end of the session.

1.5 Session summary: Explain in less than two hundred (200) words why this session is important and what knowledge gaps it will try to fill.

1.6 Target audience: Indicates who the session is for.

1.7 Meeting agenda: It describes the specific topics, their content, duration and the experts in the area who will dictate them. It includes the coordinators / moderators and all the contact details of each of the participants in the session (mandatory full name, email and telephone number of the coordinator and other experts / speakers). It must include at least one speaker or coordinator under forty-five (45) years of age.

All invited speakers must make their PPT in English and then their oral presentation may be in any of the 3 official languages ​​of PANLAR: English, Spanish or Portuguese.

1.8 Specific Needs: Describe all the specific needs of the session (eg, voters, specific instruments, computers, etc.). In the case of WORKSHOPS, please describe the modality and needs for setting up the room.

1.9 Other areas of experience / knowledge of the speakers: Other areas of knowledge in addition to the educational session proposed by each of the speakers, to potentially be included by the Scientific Committee in other sessions.

2. SELECTION PROCESS

2.1 Only proposals that satisfy all the requirements of this call will be accepted.

2.2 All proposals will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the Congress.

2.3 The Scientific Committee will select the proposal (s) it considers appropriate based on the topics, educational modalities, innovation and the need for this knowledge, in the context of the entire educational offer of the event.

2.4 The Committee reserves the right to take all or part of the proposal, or to integrate two proposals into one.

3. PANLAR’S RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 In the event that the committee selects a proposal, PANLAR will bear the following costs within the framework of the congress expenses: travel in economy class, registration and accommodation for up to a maximum of two speakers per session (it will not include any coverage for table coordinators or presenters). In some cases and depending on the nature of the proposal, PANLAR may work together with the proponents to seek specific funds..

3.2 It is mandatory to indicate in the proposal which two speakers (at most) would be the proposed ones so that PANLAR will take charge of its expenses if the proposal is approved.

3.3 PANLAR will notify the acceptance / modification / rejection of the proposal to the person responsible for it in April 2021. This decision will be final.

3.4 PANLAR reserves the right to suspend its support for the proposal at any time in case of lack of response from the proponents to their notifications, travel options, etc., up to three months before the congress without having to justify a cause.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE APPLICANTS

At the time of submitting the proposal, the coordinator and each of the speakers commit to:

4.1 Respond in a timely manner to the communications of the conference organizers..

4.2 Send all the requested documentation in a timely manner.

4.3 Attend the entire conference, not just the proposed session.

4.4 Accept to participate in other activities requested by the Scientific Committee (such as, for example: lectures, round tables, chair of tables, expert breakfasts, etc.). These additional activities will be agreed between the Scientific Committee and the coordinators / speakers of the proposal.

Failure to comply with one or more of these commitments will be grounds for suspending the proposal by the PANLAR Scientific Committee.
