E-poster instructions
If your abstract has been ACCEPTED as an E-poster Presentation please check the information below:
*All presentations will be at the congress venue, in person.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- FILE: To create your one-page E-Poster, please download this template. It is not recommended to use smaller text than Arial 11. Please save your final e-poster as PDF, it must not be bigger than 5MB.
- LANGUAGE: The text must be in English. Your Presenting Author can speak in English, Spanish, or Portuguese
- SUBMISSION: You can submit your PDF until February 28th 2024, through the link received in your notification. You can replace the file submitted before the deadline.
- PRESENTING AUTHOR: the Presenting Author must be a Co-Author of the abstract. The list of co-authors cannot be modified after the submission deadline. If you change your Presenting Author, this must be notified at scientific-secretariat@wearemci.com
- REGISTRATION: In order to present at the congress, the Presenting Author must be registered. If you want to have access to the Early Fee for your Presenting Author until February 28th, please write to scientific-secretariat@wearemci.com
- CERTIFICATE: One certificate per accepted abstract will be issued and will include the authors in the order of the submission.
- WITHDRAWAL: In case you decide not to present your abstract in the congress, please notify this as soon as possible at scientific-secretariat@wearemci.com
To present your E-poster at PANLAR 2024 the PDF file must be submitted no later than February 28th.
New files or new versions of E-posters will not be accepted after February 28th or during the congress.
During the 3rd week of March, you will receive the day and time of your E- poster presentation.

Instructions for oral presentations
If your abstract has been ACCEPTED as an Oral Presentation check the information below:
Every Oral Presentation will occur before the start of a Scientific Session related to its topic. In the next days, your Presenting Author will receive the invitation to participate in the session assigned to confirm assistance.
*All presentations will be at the congress venue, in person.

DURATION: The Presenting Author will have a total of 5 minutes to present the study at the start of the session.

FILE: To create your PPT file, you can download the PowerPoint template of the congress. Once at the venue, there will be a room for speakers to deliver their PPT file.

LANGUAGE: The slides must be in English. Your Presenting Author can speak in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.

Abstracts
26TH PAN-AMERICAN CONGRESS OF RHEUMATOLOGY
-REGULATIONS FOR THE SUBMISSION OF PAPERS-.
1. DEADLINE:
The deadline for submission of papers will be December 14th, 2023, 6:00 p.m. Barranquilla, Colombia. No extension is possible.
All papers for the 26th Pan American Congress of Rheumatology shall be submitted electronically through the system that will be enabled for this purpose. Papers cannot be sent by fax, hard copy or email.
2. REGISTRATION:
You may submit your paper without being registered. The Presenting Author should be registered in order to present during the conference.
If the paper is accepted, the Presenting Author will have access to the Early Bird Rate until February 28, 2024 to register for the conference.
3. PUBLICATION:
Accepted papers will be published in the PANLAR Global Rheumatology journal.
4. ABSTRACT LIMIT:
There are no restrictions on the number of abstracts an author may submit or present at the Congress.
5. LANGUAGE:
Abstracts shall be written in English. Tables, figures and abbreviations must be in English. Abstracts not in English will not be evaluated.
If you are not fluent in English, seek assistance in writing your abstract. Poor drafting in English will be grounds for disapproval.
PPTs (for oral presentations) and posters shall be in English. The Oral Presentation at the congress may be given in Spanish, Portuguese or English.
6. CHARACTERISTICS:
Use clear language, avoiding complex characters or formulas. Abstracts should be structured as: Background / Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
7. CHARACTER LIMIT:
The limit is 2,500 characters for the text of your abstract and references, including spaces and punctuation (this does not include author information, title or keywords).
You may include 1 image and 1 table; or 2 images, or 2 tables. Figures, tables and images included in the abstract must be referenced in the text. Tables should be created with the corresponding tool in the form, and should not be uploaded as an image.
8. EVALUATION:
To preserve the peer review process, do not include any information (e.g., authors' names or institutions) in the body of your paper.
9. REFERENCES:
These are not mandatory (their use is discouraged). In the exceptional case of using them, the limit is two (2), adopting the standard format set by the publication (Global Rheumatology).
10. CITATIONS:
Should strictly comply with Vancouver standards, and are to be numbered consecutively according to the order of appearance in the text, in Arabic numerals in parentheses and not as superscript or subscript. Example:
Name of Author(s), Title of article. Title of the journal or book. Volume, number, year, Pages. Available at: URL.
11. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON SCREEN to access the paper submission form. Complete all fields on the form.
12. STATEMENT:
The system will prompt the submitter to complete a statement of relevant funding sources to finalize the submission.
13. PRESENTATION TYPE:
You must select a preferred presentation type (Oral or Poster) and the corresponding topic from the following options:
1. Basic science
2. Crystal arthropathy
3. Epidemiology (including socioeconomic, socio-cultural and gender equity studies)
4. Fibromyalgia and pain
5. Imaging
6. Infections (including COVID-19)
7. Osteoarthritis
8. Osteoporosis
9. Pediatric Rheumatology
10. Psoriatic arthritis
11. Rheumatoid arthritis
12. Rheumatology education
13. Sjogren's and other systemic autoimmune diseases
14. Spondyloarthritis
15. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
16. Vasculitis and related diseases
17. Miscellaneous
The decision on the type of presentation will be made by the Evaluation Committee.
14. AUTHORS:
Please enter the names of the authors in the order in which they should appear in the paper header.
It is the responsibility of the submitter to write correctly the full names of the other authors, which will be reproduced on the certificate as submitted (if accepted).
Confirmation of receipt of the paper will be sent to the e-mail address given in the paper.
The contact author will receive all notifications related to the paper and will be responsible for informing the co-authors of its status.
15. REVIEW OF YOUR ABSTRACT:
Check your paper carefully. Make sure that all special characters and formatting look correct on your final proof. If you find errors, return to the appropriate page to correct them. It is the author's responsibility to submit the paper correctly.
16. FINAL SUBMISSION:
Once all fields have been completed, papers may be saved in "Final Submission" status. Only abstracts saved in "Final Submission" will be considered as successfully submitted and considered for the Congress. Papers submitted or saved as in progress or drafts cannot be edited after the submission deadline.
CANCELLED papers will not be considered for evaluation.
17. NOTIFICATIONS:
Will be sent by email by mid-February 2024.
The decision of the Evaluation Committee will be irrevocable and there will be no instances of review of the evaluation.
18. PRESENTATION:
For accepted abstracts it is mandatory that the presenting author presents the paper during the day and time assigned at the Congress.
19. CERTIFICATE:
Only one certificate per paper will be issued, which will include all authors in the order in which they were submitted.

21. Papers previously presented at other conferences:
May be accepted at PANLAR 2024 as long as the copyright of the other event, conference or congress is not infringed. Authors are strongly encouraged to add new data generated between the previous presentation and the PANLAR 2024 abstract submission deadline. If your abstract has been previously presented at another conference, it will only be considered for poster presentation by the organizing committee.
If the paper has been previously presented at another conference, it should be indicated in the corresponding section.

PANLAR RECOMMENDATIONS
Before submitting your paper, please keep the following in mind:

Review your writing in English: Remember that papers must be submitted in English. Assess your language skills and, if necessary, seek help from competent reviewers to ensure the accuracy and quality of the English writing of your abstract.

Clarity and scientific accuracy: Ensure that your abstract is clear, concise, and focuses on the most important aspects of your research. Maintain a focus on scientific rigor and, if presenting clinical cases, highlight practical lessons for the specialty.

Comply with the thematic requirements: Make sure your abstract is aligned with the thematic areas and methodologies relevant to the Congress. Make sure your paper fits into the specific categories advertised for the event.

Planning and review: Do not underestimate the importance of thorough planning and review. Take the time to review and proofread your abstract before submitting it. This will ensure the quality and accuracy of your presentation.
